We recently represented the nation’s second largest Burger King franchisee in a pre-packaged bankruptcy sale of its 230 restaurants located in several different states. In conjunction with that transaction, we represented the ground lessors of roughly half of those restaurants in the renegotiation of their existing mortgage debt, the refinancing of that debt, and the restructuring of their leases with the purchaser of the restaurants. We met the complexity and scope of the legal issues in this transaction with a cohesive team of our tax, real estate, securities and M&A lawyers.
